Adolescence in the Age of AI

PAC hosted an in-person discussion on ‘Adolescence in the Age of AI’ in Los Angeles in May 2025.  Moderated by Mary Beth Snodgrass, who shared insights on how leading AI companies implement AI safeguards and guardrails to protect adolescents, the dynamic discussion included three panelists:

  • Dr. Jenny Grant Rankin, Lecturer and Author

  • Olivia DeRamus, Founder and CEO

  • Dr. Sadhana Nayak-Young, Adolescent Psychiatrist

The discussion spanned nearly 1.5 hours and covered many timely and important topics on social media and AI, including:

  • Trade-offs between privacy and protection for adolescents and children

  • Differences between freedom of speech and entitlement to social media platforms

  • Efficient and effective user-centric approaches to incorporating AI into existing tech platforms
